San Diego County Wildfires UpdateSome 250,000 San Diego County Residents are being evacuated as a result of the Southern California Wildfires. The Fire Environment Triangle describes the relationship between the factors involved in wildfire behavior. The balance or imbalance of the factors of weather, terrain and fuels dictate the fire hazard for any area. As a result Southern California has been declared a disaster area. San Diego Downtown is part of the danger area. These fires are hampered by the strong desert winds - Santa Ana winds. a list of other articles regarding the wildfires in Southern California:
Residents with large animals are instructed to take them to the Lakeside Rodeo Grounds, located at Highway 67 and Mapleview Street, or the San Diego County Fairgrounds in Del Mar. Residents are urged to place their household pets in carriers or crates plus supplies such as food and leashes if they are brought to Red Cross shelters.

· Oak Oasis
· Palomar Mtn. (County Park)
· Patriot Park
· Potrero
· Ramona Grasslands
· San Dieguito
· Santa Ysabel
· Simon
· Stelze
· Sycamore Canyon
There are more than a dozen wildfires stretching from north of Los Angeles to the Mexican border. California Wildfire Resources:
Volunteer San Diego is a clearing center for those that need volunteers or wish to volunteer their time in assisting in this disaster.
